What We Do
Boat Delivery
It works like this :-
- After initial contact by letter, fax, telephone or email
we will send you a form to complete or you can complete it
on line at the end of this site. We will then send you an
inclusive quote for delivering your boat.
- We will tell you if we will need to move the boat on a
section of the waterway that requires a separate licence and
how to obtain this for the appropriate period - we will not
move unlicensed boats.
- After agreeing terms one of our skippers will arrive at
the appointed time to collect your boat and start the journey
after making a DVD schedule of condition.
- At the point of delivery your boat will be safely moored
and left in the same condition as we took it over.
- After a post-delivery DVD schedule of condition the
arrangement for handover will be completed in accordance with
your wishes.
We need from you :-
- The completed form. This will usually give us all of the
information that we require to provide you with a quotation and
carry out the delivery.
- We ask that the fuel tank is topped up prior to collection
and we will leave it topped up on delivery.
- As you would expect from an organisation that undertakes to
move a cherished possession we will require proof of ownership
for any boat that we move.
- Your boat must be in good running order on collection.
Crewing
Locks can be heavy work for someone who is suffering from a physical
disability or is just not as fit as they used to be.
We will happily quote you to provide a crewmember to take the strain
out of your trip.
Familiarisation
Your first time afloat can be a daunting prospect and we can provide a
crew at an inclusive day rate to accompany you whilst you become familiar
with the waterways. We are not a formal training organisation; we leave
that to the R.Y.A. experts and we recommend Terry Robertson of T.R. Boat Handling who is certainly an expert. Terry can be contacted at shropshirelass@trboating.fsnet.co.uk or click the link to his web site.
